The Estoril / Sintra Golf Coast, located just west of Lisbon, also provides a number of championship courses that we highly recommend including: Belas Clube de Campo, Penha Longa Golf Resort, Quinta de Belaura and Quinta da Marinha. All courses can be easily reached from the seaside fishing town of Cascais. Cascais, with its mosaic tile streets, wonderful restaurants and small, beautiful seaside Hotel Albatroz, make this a great place to use as a base for the golf, sightseeing and shopping in and around Lisbon. Other fine hotels in this area include Penhia Longa Golf and Spa Resort, Hotel Palacio and Hotel Palace of Seteais.

There are many other enjoyable areas of this lovely country.  Porto, with its port wine vineyards along the river and the medieval walled city of Evora, with its narrow brick streets lined with shops, has one of the most spectacular cathedrals you will ever see.
