Scotland East Coast - Lothians and Fife

Day 1 - Saturday - Depart USA

Cringletie HouseDay 2 – Sunday – Arrive Scotland where you will be met by our Scotland representative who will help you pick up your self-drive van, give you directions, send you on your way and be available to you throughout you trip. Overnight for the next three nights at the Cringletie House, a luxurious, romantic and comfortable small country house hotel and restaurant, the only AA Top 200 Hotel in the Scottish Borders, just south of Edinburgh, Scotland. The castle type Victorian baronial mansion is set in the tranquil and rural countryside, where sheep outnumber humans!

Luffness New CourseDay 3 – Monday – Play Luffnes New Course. Established in 1894 and designed by Tom Morris, Luffness New Golf Club has changed little to the present day. There can be few more stimulating courses than Luffness New. Although Luffness hosts the qualifying rounds for the Open Championship, its main purpose is to serve the needs of its members and visitors.

North BerwickDay 4 – Tuesday – Play North Berwick. It was the formation in 1832 of North Berwick Golf Club that marked the beginning of organized golf over terrain which in time would be expanded to become the West Links which we know today. Even in the glittering array of Scotland’s seaside golf courses, North Berwick’s West Links stands out as a rare gem. It has taken a long time to evolve to its present state of excellence, but it has been time well spent.

Gullane #1 Golf CourseDay 5 - Wednesday – Gullane #1 is your venue today. Gullane Golf Club offers championship quality links courses with dramatic views across the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh and Fife. Gullane No.1 has a long history of hosting international Championship events, including the Scottish Amateur Championship, Open Championship Qualifying, Seniors Open Amateur and European Boys Team Championships in recent years. It is also one of the truly great golf experiences to be experienced anywhere. After golf transfer to the Inn at Lothones, in Fife for the next three nights. A harmonious blend of old and new is what makes The Inn at Lathones so special – and if you’re lucky enough to meet the Inn’s resident friendly ghost it could be one boutique hotel you’ll never forget. This 400 year old coaching inn is within 15 minutes drive of more than 20 golf courses, including the famous Old Course at St. Andrews. But perhaps the best feature of this hotel is its award winning restaurant and wine list headed by award winning Breton Master Chef Marc Guibert. His menus specializes in fresh local produce, in particular seafood caught the same day it lands on the table.

Crail Golf ClubDay 6 - Thursday – Crail Golf Course is sublime, strange, wonderful, whimsical and weird -- all at the same time. It is also one of the truly great golf experiences to be experienced. The links commands lovely views over the Firth of Tay, Firth of Forth and the North Sea. There are many memorable holes with the most demanding being the par 4 5th Hell’s Hole, a right dogleg playing over the jagged rocks of Tullybothy Crags.

Levin Links Golf ClubDay 7 – Friday - Leven Links - On the north shore of the Firth of Forth is another of Scotlands historic courses. Leven has long been an Open Championship qualifying course and is home to the Standard Life Gold Medal which dates back to 1870 and lays claim to being the oldest open amateur stroke play championship in the world. par 71, 6506 yards

Lundin Links Golf ClubDay 8 – Saturday – Lundin Links Golf Club, founded in 1868, a Tom Morris course which was extensively redesigned in 1908-09 by five times Open Champion James Braid, is well known throughout the golfing world as a course of rare quality. Fine links fairways and excellent greens have ensured that it has been regularly selected as a final qualifying course for the Open Championship. Narrow fairways, bunkers, burns, and ever-changing winds guarantee a testing but rewarding golfing experience. After golf transfer to a hotel at your departure airport.
Note – You have the option on Days 6, 7, and 8 to apply for St. Andrews Old Course tee times on the "Ballot". If you are successful the additional cost for this green fee is $250.00.
